Competing for the SPORT 2000 Team this weekend:
Ski Flying - World Cup Planica (SLO)
Halvor Egner Granerud
In the first individual competition of this season's final weekend in Planica, Jurij Tepes showed that he can be one of the best ski flyers even if the season was a tough one for him with his 13th place. Stephan Leyhe finished 20th, followed by Stefan Hula in 21st, Ziga Jelar was 24th and Halvor Egner Granerud 28th. Anze Semenic came in 30th due to a disqualification (the suit did not meet the rules) in the final round, his performance would have earned him a very good ninth place.
In Saturday's team competition, Stephan Leyhe could finish second with his German teammates and Anze Semenic celebrated a podium finish with the local heroes in third. Stefan Hula finished fourth with Poland, Clemens Aigner was sixth with Austria, Will Rhoads ninth with the USA and Sebastian Colloredo and Alex Insam 10th with Italy.
The season ended on Sunday in Planica with the World Cup final of the Top 30 athletes. The best of the Red Eagles was Stefan Hula in 13th, Anze Semenic came in 17th, Halvor Egner Granerud 20th, Jernej Damjan 23rd, Clemens Aigner 26th and Stephan Leyhe 30th.
Ski Jumping - Ladies World Cup Oberstdorf (GER)
On Saturday, Jerneja Brecl was our best athlete in 10th, Ursa Bogataj came in 17th.
Ursa Bogataj then achieved a great result on Sunday afternoon with a fifth place, Jerneja Brecl finished 20th and Lucile Morat 26th.
Nordic Combined - World Cup Schonach (GER)
Jan Schmid was 21st on Saturday and the only Red Eagle in the Top 30.
In the season final on Sunday afternoon, Jan Schmid moved up from 16th after the jumping to sixth overall with a very good performance in the cross country race. Antoine Gerard came in 30th.
